Jaime Palacios is a designer and urbanist driven by a deep passion for exploring the interconnectedness of humankind and ecological systems.

With over six years of experience in architectural, urban, and landscape design, he approaches his work through a multidisciplinary lens. Jaime believes informed design can reveal unexpected relations, resulting in work that resonates with its hyperlocal context while nurturing a broader planetary coexistence with nature.

After earning his M.S. in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation in 2020—and profoundly impacted by his experience of living in New York City during the pandemic—Jaime developed a keen interest in exploring the dynamic interplay between objects and systems, built forms and ecologies, and the relationships that bind individuals to their communities.

Jaime utilizes design to investigate how humans and non-humans occupy the territory, crafting elements and networks that are both culturally grounded and ecologically resonant.

“A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.”
